Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Approval of a Thermal Process, the applicant has to approach the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. An acknowledgment receipt downloaded, Please save it for future reference.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. Then the application will be processed further.
10. If required, the inspection will be made for a quality check
11. Once the process gets completed, the applicant will get the approval through the post.
12. After that, the applicant can manufacture and sell the product.
13. This entire process can be completed within 3- 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

• This approval applies to export registered milk, egg, and fish establishments using thermal processing for low-acid canned foods in hermetically sealed containers.

• Records of skills and know
• ledge of appropriately qualified staff
• Validation data for each thermal process (including heat penetration trials, thermal process calculations, etc.) that has been signed off by an appropriately qualified person
• Deviations from any scheduled thermal process must be assessed by an appropriately qualified person. Records must include a clear determination of the final disposition of the assessment outcome, including evidence where the product is determined to be commercially sterile and safe to eat
• All other records as required under legislation and your approved arrangement, including calibration records, CCP monitoring records e.g. cooling water, seam, and can inspection records
