Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for swapping or exchanging vehicle palate number, you should visit the Ministry of Interior, department of General Directorate of Traffic you can view the contact details of the General Directorate of Traffic through this link: Link
2. Prepare the required documents and visit the with the vehicle Traffic Department headquarters or Traffic Department sections at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) Services Centres in your region
3. Obtain the application form from the service desk at the reception of the office
4. Fill the application form correctly and attach the supporting documents to it
5. Go to the registration section and submit your complete application to the assisting officer for verification
6. The office will assess the application and if correct request you to pay the application fee
7. Once you have paid, the officer will amend the plate registration details in the system and then direct you to the plate office
8. Go to the plate office and have your plate number changed as you have applied for
