Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Private companies operating in Qatar may submit a request to the Public Security Department at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to obtain a permit for private security personnel.
2. The first step to do this is to approach the Public Security Department offices at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) where you will be issued with a Private Security Personnel Permit for Private Companies Form to fill and submit. The application form can be also obtained from the MOI Website or can be accessed using the following link: Private Security Personnel Permit for Private Companies and filled beforehand.
3. Fill in all the required information correctly, print the completed application form and then attach the required documents. These include :
   • Letter from the company
   • Copy of passport
   • Residency permit (if obtained)
   • For citizens: To Whom It May Concern Certificate indicating that the applicant is not working in one of the state ministries
   • For expatriates: No Objection Letter from the employer if the applicant has been recruited locally
   • For wives on their husbands’ sponsorship: No Objection Letter from the husband
   • CV of security personnel for whom a permit is to be issued, clarifying his academic qualification and security experience
   • Copy of training certificates
4. Submit the completed application form and required documents to the Public Security Department Officers for processing.
5. The officials from the Public Security Department will carry out investigations on your application to verify that everything is in order.
6. If everything is in order, your application for the private security personnel permit will be approved.
7. The processing time is usually between three to five days. However, the processing time may vary depending on the accuracy of the information you gave in your application form.
8. Once the application is processed the applicant will be notified to collect their private security personnel permit.
