Procedure

Those who wanted to do carry on repair and maintenance business in weight and measure, then they have to apply for the repair license with the respective state legal metrology department

1. Go to the online portal : online portal
2. In the given page please click “login” menu to reach login page.
3. Please enter the user name, password. Captcha as appropriate and click “Login” button to login.
   1. If you are a new user then use the “Signup” option. A new page will be displayed. Please follow the page prompt and choose “yes” or “No” for “Are you registering for PSIEC Plot Allotment:” option and click applicable button to register and then login.
4. Once login, applicant will reach dashboard.
5. Click on ‘Add New Project with CAF’ button to open the window to upload the MoU Document
6. Click ‘Attachment’ button to upload the MoU Document, Select the MoU Signed Date and click on ‘Save’ button to proceed to next page
7. Enter & Save the details asked in the following tabs (1) Application Details (2) Business Entity Details (3) Project Details (4) Investment Details (5) Proposed Employment Details (6) Others to complete CAF Process & generate iPIN.
8. Please save the iPAN and click ‘OK’ button to open another page where you will enter the other required data and click on ‘Show My Approvals’ button
9. Click on ‘Regulatory Clearance’ link from the left side menu to open a new window
10. Click on ‘Apply New’ window and then on ‘Details’ button. Click on ‘Apply For New Clearance’ button to open new window consisting of different department list
11. Search For ‘Metrology’ Department and select the type of service (License for New Repairer) you need to apply and click on ‘New’ button to open the department page
12. Click on ‘Fill Application’ Link and please fill in all the relevant details as per page prompts
13. Upload required documents as per the prompt.
14. Pay necessary fee and submit the application.
15. A system generated application id will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
16. An SMS alert will be sent to the applicant regarding application submission.
17. Application will be forwarded online to the concerned Assistant Controller.
18. After scrutiny by the Assistant Controller, short fall in the documentation if any will be intimated through SMS along with the date of inspection.
19. The premises will be inspected by the concerned Legal Metrology Officer and documents in original will be verified and security deposit if applicable would be collected.#The Application along with report will be forwarded to the issuing authority concerned.
20. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
21. If approved, certificate will be delivered as per applicable norms.

Apply In-Person:

1. Applicant shall approach office of the designated local Legal Metrology Officer / Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology for the district under whose dominion the proposed unit is located.

4. Obtain the application form or write on a A4 sheet as advised.
5. After filling/completing application form attach all the required documents as per our required document section.
6. Submit the document set along with required/applicable fee to the receiving authority.
7. Submitted application will be verified by the authorities. If all are in place, application will be accepted.
8. Applicant will get an acknowledgement for the submission of application.
9. This application will be handed over to the inspection team/authority (Local Senior Inspector/Inspector). They will conduct the inspection of premises proposed by the applicant and also verify the documents. Once they finished their due diligence a report along with application will be sent to the Licensing department.
10. After review of the submitted application and report the licensing authority may constitute a committee to examine and test the capability and competence of the applicant to repair the weights and measure, accordingly the committee prepares and sends its report to the license issuing authority.
11. The licensing authority after examining the application and finding it suitable for grant of License, may require the applicant to deposit the License fee.
12. Once the fee is deposited and copy thereof received in the Assistant Controller’s office, he will issue the license in the prescribed format.
13. Applicant gets notification about the approval. License will be delivered as per applicable norms.
14. If the license is refused due to non-compliance of all or any of the requirements, the decision duly reasoned shall be communicated within 15 days to the applicant.

NOTE:

• The applicant is required to furnish an experience certificate (skilled worker / proprietor / Partner / Director of the firm or certificate from I.T.I in Instrument Mechanic & Electronics) for at least one year for the items applied for Repairing.
• The premises should be suitable and adequate (not less than the area as prescribed)

• Machineries, Tools and Accessories list with purchase bill.

• Valid Labour Licence.
• 2 Passport size photo.
• Authenticated document regarding Proprietorship
• In case the firm is not a proprietorship concern the firm should submit a copy of Partnership deed duly attested by First Class Magistrate / Notary / Oath Commissioner and in case of Private Company or Limited Company, Memorandum of Association approved by the Ministry of Company Affairs, Govt. of India.
• Premises - ownership documents/ registered rent or leave license agreement or lease agreement NOC from the owner / NOC of the member if the premise is owned by family member.
• PAN card
• Self-declaration about whether the Applicant has violated any of the provisions of Legal Metrology Act, 2009 or rules made there under.
• Latest electricity bill.
• Aadhar card of directors

Self-attested copy of the applicable documents should be attached

Eligibility

• Applicant should be the citizen of India
• Age limit 18 years and above
• An individual or a company registered under government act is eligible to apply.
• Having 1 year of experience or having required education.

Fees

• Fee details shall be obtained while applying.
• Rs.100 is what collected as fees in general.

Validity

Every licence issued to a manufacturer shall be valid for a minimum period of one calendar year and can be renewed.
