Apply In-Person:
- The respective state department will make wide publicity for the scheme through the local media, both print and electronic, for the benefit of all the eligible communities. The community people too shall approach the concerned office to avail the assistance.
- Based on the announcement or as per the communities intend, the applicant shall approach the office of the “District Executive Officer/Superintendent of Fisheries / assistant registrar of the co-operative societies / the designated authority” of the respective districts to apply for this scheme.

- Please visit the respective office and consult with the concerned authority at the office to find the right office to apply for the scheme. Go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure for this scheme. The applicant shall collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
- Complete the application form. Attach the document as per the “Required Documents” section of this page along with an undertaking to contribute 40% (or the percentage fixed by the state) own contribution in terms of labour and submit it to the designated receiving authority as advised.
- After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted. Please pay the fee/charges as per the authorities quote.
- The authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer.#Acknowledgement receipt will be given against every form received. Please collect it and please keep it safe for future reference.
- Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting approval for the scheme.
- ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
- This application will be processed further.
- The respective fishery department authority will scrutinize the applications, assess the validity of the ownership of the applicants, documents, including the capacity of the applicants to make 40% (or the percentage fixed by the state) own contribution in terms of labour, as also to undertake other required infrastructure.
- Once the above set of actions are completed, the eligible applications will be forwarded to the respective team (Technical Staff/Programme Managers of the Fish Farmer Development Agency comprise the team) for site inspection.
- On a scheduled date, the inspection team will do the preliminary survey of the sites. Once the inspection is completed, the survey/inspection report will be forwarded to the respective department.
- This list of probable beneficiaries will be placed before the district committee (aquaculture mission) for further processing. The committee will then scrutinize the applications based on the report and recommendations to shortlist the applications.
- The shortlisted applications will be forwarded to the respective department for final approval.
- Once the department approves, the approved list of beneficiaries, in the order of priority, will be sent to the respective office of the concerned district authority (District Executive Officer/Superintendent of Fisheries / assistant registrar of the co-operative societies / the designated authority) as appropriate.
- The concerned district authority will issue the work order. The applicant gets intimation about the approval and issue of work order as per department norms.
- The applicant shall visit the respective office and follow the authority’s guidelines to get the work order. The beneficiaries/organization will execute an undertaking indicating the tentative date(s) of harvesting of fish from their ponds.
- Once the work order is issued, the technical guidance on the mode of construction of pond, pre- and post-stocking management, fish disease control, etc., will be imparted on the field by the implementing officials.
- Initially, the organizations/beneficiaries will have to start the work with their own contribution as agreed.
- Once the initial work from the organizations/beneficiaries are complete, the respective team will do their due verification to make sure that the initial work taken up by the organizations /Beneficiaries is satisfactory.
- On satisfactory grounds, the first instalment of 50% from the approved assistance for the capital cost will be released.
- Once the first instalment is utilized for the implementation of the scheme, the remaining amount for capital cost will be released as second instalment after the approval of the implementing officials for the completion of the community fish pond.
- The rest of the assistance for fish seed, fish feed and prophylactic measures will be provided by the Department on quotation basis from the authorized dealers / suppliers. Also, the expenses for raw cow dung, lime, superphosphate, urea, labour cost for periodical netting will be paid directly to the organization/beneficiaries upon production of the necessary bills and vouchers.
- The whole process shall be completed within the financial year or as per the advised time period (depending on the completion of the project certified by the respective implementing agency).

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant should be a citizen of India.
- Those who are 18 years and above are eligible for this scheme.
- The Fish Farmers / Communities / Self Help Groups / Fish Farmer Cooperative Societies / Multi-Purpose Co-operative Societies etc. of the State are eligible to apply.
- The minimum water area eligible for the financial assistance shall be 0.5 hectares and maximum water area of 2 hectares with a water depth of 1.5 meters to 2 meters deep.
- If the beneficiary wants assistance for a bigger pond, the cost for the area beyond 2 hectares has to be completely borne by the beneficiary.
- For availing assistance for pond construction, the society must have a minimum lease period of ten years.

- The fee details will be provided by the authorities at the time of applying. The applicant shall pay as per the authorities quote.

- This approved assistance should be utilized to implement the project as per the timeline mentioned while executing the undertaking, indicating the tentative date(s) of harvesting of fish from their ponds.

InstructionsEdit
- The beneficiary of this scheme should provide monthly reports, right from the stage of implementation to the completion of the project.
- The department will record authentic statistical data of the pond. The authorities will also photograph and take videos of the community pond for record purpose.
- Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
- Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get approval for the scheme.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The community fish ponds are constructed using the village common lands. The community not only offers land, they also come forward to make some contribution in the construction of the pond by way of labour.
- The community fish pond scheme is successful in achieving socio-economic development of the village. To give boost to the farmers and to promote self-employment in fisheries, the government has implemented this scheme.
- This in turn provides improved income and livelihood to the farmers and villagers.
