Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The applicant can apply for a vehicle dealer license, the applicant will need to complete and submit the application form to Access Prince Edward Island. Here is the contact Link

3. Fill out the application form with all the relevant details.
4. The applicant must submit all the required documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page. The applicant can find information on how to submit the documents in the application form.
5. The applicant will also need to pay fees for registration, find fee-related information under the “Fees” section of this page.
6. The applicant will need to submit a Criminal record check obtained from the nearest RCMP.
7. Submit the application form along with the documents in-person to the address mentioned under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
8. Once the applicant submits the application they will get their license either by mail or must collect it in person as will be intimated by the authorities.
9. The applicant shall be registered within 30 days from the completion of the course.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be 19 years of age or above.
• The applicant must have an established place of business in PEI.
• The applicant must advertise all content through the dealership.
• The vehicles must stay in the dealership and cannot be moved to other locations for viewing.
• The applicant must mandatorily go through a criminal record check.
• The applicant must go through a criminal record check.

Fees

• The applicant will need to pay a security bond of 15,000$.
• The applicant will need to make a cheque or money order payable to “Minister of Finance and Municipal Affairs”.
• The applicant can submit the fee at the nearest access PEI or mail it to this address: Transportation & Infrastructure Renewal Highway Safety 120 Harbour Drive Summer side, PE C1N 5L2.

Validity

• The applicant has to mandatorily renew license every year, if they engage in business without renewing their license, they could face enforcement action.
