Procedure

1. You will need to schedule an appointment with the Immigration and Border Service (SEF), contact information is provided below.
2. Prepare all the documents you will need to submit when you renew your residence permit.
3. Here is a link to the renewal form. You may download the form to give you an idea on what the form looks like.
4. On the day of your appointment, submit all the required documents and pay all applicable fees.

Instructions

Foreign citizens allowed to reside in Portuguese territory are issued a residence permit. The residence permit, temporary or permanent, must be renewed according to the established legislation.

The temporary residence permit must be renewed at least 30 days before the expiry of its validity.
