Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain a copy of Divorce Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Philippines Statistics Authority’s civil registry offices link.
    Note: The applicant has to click Field office and select the region from the drop-down menu.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  3. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  5. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  7. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  8. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  9. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  10. This entire process can be completed within 15- 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

Only the following are authorized to receive birth/marriage/death/divorce certificates:

  • The owner himself or through a duly authorized representative;
  • His/her spouse, parent, direct descendants, guardian, or institution legally-in-charge of him/her, if minor;
  • The court or proper public official whenever necessary in administrative, judicial or other proceedings to determine the identity of a person;
  • In case of the person’s death, the nearest of kin.

  • The fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.



ValidityEdit

  • The validity of the divorce certificate is forever.

  • Divorce certificate contains the same thing as the decree and usually contains the name of the spouses and the date on which their marriage got dissolved. A divorced person normally uses the divorce certificate for various legal purposes as evidence of the divorce.
  • Any applicant who had lost the original copy of divorce certificate has to get a copy of the certificate from PHILIPPINES STATISTICS AUTHORITY (PSA).
