Apply In-Person:

  1. To Getting married in Philippines, the applicant has to approach the Philippines Statistics Authority’s civil registry offices link.
    Note: The applicant has to click Field office and select the region from the drop-down menu.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. This entire process can be completed within 15- 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • A Marriage Certificate is a document that shows social union or a legal contract between people that creates kinship. Such a union, often formalized via a wedding ceremony, may also be called matrimony. A general definition of marriage is that it is a social contract between two individuals that unites their lives legally, economically and emotionally.



Information which might helpEdit

  • Marriages must be solemnized publicly in a church, chapel, temple, judicial chambers or offices of consuls. The only time a wedding can take place elsewhere is if the wedding is articulo mortis, in a remote location, or if the officiant receives a request for a different location.

OthersEdit

  • Individuals between the age of 21 and 25, must ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it is unfavourable, the marriage license shall not be issued until after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.
  • A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for a marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.
