Procedure

Apply In Person:

1. To Getting Electricity Connection by Residence Owners, the applicant has to approach the Energy Regulatory Commission link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the fee as per the authority’s request.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. The officer will visit the site for an electricity connection.
12. This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

For an applied load of 500kW or more, kindly submit the additional documents:

• Complete single-line diagram reflecting winding configurations and relays
• Transformer vault or metering vault location plan
• Elevation plan of transformer or metering vault
• Layout showing rooms surrounding the transformer vault or metering vault room (below/beside/above)
• Proposed primary and secondary conduit runs
• Drainage system layout
• Layout containing the location of the main circuit breaker [High-voltage switchgear (HVSG) or Low-voltage switchgear (LVSG)]
• Metering location
• Hoisting facilities and their specifications
• Site development plan (relationship of the building to the transformer vault or metering vault within other establishments)
• Topography diagram (for rolling terrain)

Need for the Document

• An electrical connector is an electromechanical device used to create an electrical connection between parts of an electrical circuit, or between different electrical circuits, thereby joining them into a larger circuit.
• If any resident owner needs to get an electricity connection, has to send an application to the respective authority to request the service.

There are two types of new electricity service applications for residential owners. These are:

• Three wire 120/240V Systems-this type of connection consists of three wires, two 120 VAC load (“hot”) wires and a single neutral.
• Two wire 230V Systems-this type of connection consists of two wires, one 230 VAC load wire and one neutral wire.
