Apply In Person:
- To Apply for Special Training for Employment Program (STEP), the applicant has to approach the TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) assessment center link
- NOTE: Enter the center name and select the region, qualification, province and click the “Search” button to check the nearest center.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- Also, inquire about the training schedule, duration, requirements, and fees. Some training centers may offer free training while others may charge a minimal fee.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority at the cashier counter.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- The training center will screen the application and inform the applicant if the applicant is eligible for the STEP program. The applicant will need to attend an orientation session to learn more about the program.
- Once the applications have been accepted into the STEP program, attend the training sessions as scheduled and complete the program.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 - 40 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- The STEP program is open to Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old and are either unemployed or underemployed. They should also be physically fit to undergo training.
