Apply In Person
- To Apply for Converting Student Visa, the applicant has to approach the Bureau of Immigration offices link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
- The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a visa through the post.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 – 45 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Joint letter of request addressed to the Commissioner from the authorized representative of the petitioning school and applicant, using the school letterhead with dry seal;
- Duly accomplished Consolidated General Application Form (CGAF) For Student Visa and Special Study Permit (BI Form 2014-00-003 Rev 0); (Prepare two (2) copies. The other CGAF copy is for the Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) I-Card Application.);
- Photocopy of passport bio-page and latest admission with valid authorized stay;
- Notice of Acceptance of the applicant bearing a clear impression of the school’s official dry seal;
- Endorsement addressed to the Commissioner from the school for the conversion of the applicant’s status, signed by the School Registrar;
- Photocopy of passport page bearing the valid Bureau of Quarantine Clearance and International Health Surveillance stamp;
- Medical Certificate issued by the Bureau of Quarantine and International Health Surveillance or a government medical institution with competence to certify that the applicant is not afflicted with any dangerous, contagious or loathsome disease and is mentally fit;
- CHED Endorsement for transfer and shifting of course; if applicable;
- National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance for a foreign student enrolling from a bachelor’s degree to postgraduate;
- Photocopy of Bureau of Immigration (BI) school accreditation ID of the registrar or school representative;
- National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) Clearance; and BI Clearance Certificate;
- Photocopy of the original receipt of payment for the applicable BI fees.

- Enter legibly all the information required into the appropriate spaces on the form. If the information required is not applicable. please write "N/A Do not leave any item blank. Your answers must be in English and all entries must be in CAPITAL LETTERS using English characters only.
- All documents required for submission must be complied with. arranged in the order as listed in the Checklist of Documentary Requirements
- {CDR). compiled in a legal size (BE x 14 in.) folder and shall be submitted within the prescribed period, if applicable.
- All sworn statements or affidavits must be original and duly notarized.
- All civil registry documents issued in the Philippines (i e. Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate. Death Certificate. etc.) must be original and issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
- All foreign documents must be original and authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post (FSP). which has jurisdiction over the place of issuance. or by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) if said document is issued by the local Embassy in the Philippines. with English translation if written in other foreign language.
- If the application is filed by an authorized representative. attach a photocopy of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) Accreditation on Identification
