Peru - Apply for DNI Identity Card (Up to 16 Years)

ProcedureEdit

  1. Obtain all necessary documents.
  2. Go to any registry office to apply.
  3. To find out the status of your application, follow link: https://cel.reniec.gob.pe/estadoTramite/
  4. You may pick up the card in the RENIEC office where you applied or you can request that it will be send to another office (subject to additional cost)
  5. In case where the respondent's child can not come in person to pick up the card, you can have someone to pick it up by bringing the ticket to pick up the card, a power of attorney with right index fingerprint and legible signature of the declarant.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Receipt of payment.
  • Certified copy of birth certificate issued by Civil Registrar.
  • Utility bill (water, telephone, property tax, excise) in original and copy, no more than six months old.
  • A current passport photo, frameless, colored, white background, front view, no clothes on the head, except religious, no glasses and no retouching.
  • Present ID of parents, parents, guardians, older siblings or parents of minor or representatives of the Ombudsman or Protection Center. See Annex: http://sisweb.reniec.gob.pe/TupaReniec/html/anexo/anexo7.html
  • Certificate of disability (RM 372-2000-SA/DM) or similar, Executive Resolution CONADIS, certificate or proof of special education center stating disabling condition.
  • If the ID belongs to a child, the child must be present when applying for registration. For pickup only need to do the declarant (parent or guardian), ie who accompanied the child to perform the procedure.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A National Identification Card is an identity card that each citizen or resident in a country is issued and required to carry and display under certain circumstances.

The ID card is necessary for children to be identified and have access to health services, social programs, as well as for the free movement inside or outside the country. It is also important to prevent child trafficking and kidnapping. The No. of ID will be the same when it comes of age and that you will use throughout their lives. Currently, the DNI of minors is issued to persons between 0 years old up to 16 years, under the registration and identification program for children. The ID of minors has a cost of 16 soles.
