Application
- To apply for a Visitor Visa/Entry Permit you will need to complete Application for Entry Permit (Form 1). You may download the form using the link provided under 'Documents to Use' section.
- Submit the completed form and pay the Migration Service Fee (MSF) as set out in the Entry Permit Fee Form.
- Provide your passport and documentary evidence (see list below).
Extension Of Stay
Your Visitor Visa / Entry Permit is valid for a single entry stay of sixty (60) days from the date of your arrival.
You may apply for an extension only for a maximum of thirty (30) days.
To apply for an extension, you will need to:
- Fill out the "Application to Extend Entry Permit" (Form 4).
- Pay the MSF as set out in the Entry Permit Fee Form.
- Provide a letter stating reasons for extension.
- Provide a copy of return airline ticket.
Note: You may only apply for an extension once.

Application
Tourist (both Tour Package and Own Itinerary):
- Return/on going ticket;
- Evidence of funds (if required).
Visiting Relative:
- Return/ongoing ticket;
- Evidence of funds (if required).
Journalist:
- Return/ongoing ticket.
- Letter from sponsoring organization and list of equipment.
- Approval from the OIC Media Unit of the Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council and the OIC Media/Public Relations at the Department of Foreign Affairs & Immigration.
Sportsperson:
- Letter of invitation from the relevant PNG sporting body
- Return/on-going ticket.
Filmmaker (Non-commercial):
- Approval from NFI to be obtained prior to lodgment of application at PNGICSA.
- Return/on-going ticket.
Yachtsperson:
- Proof of ownership of vessel/ captain's papers.
- Ship's log for details of crew members.
- Customs Clearance form must be completed.
Accompanying dependents and crew members are issued with a Tourist/visitor Entry Permit upon arrival.
Extension Of Stay
- Completed "Application to Extend Entry Permit" (Form 4).
- A letter stating reasons for extension.
- Copy of return airline ticket.

EligibilityEdit
The main conditions for the issuance of the permit are common to all applicants:
- they must have accommodation available
- be not adversely recorded from a security point of view
- be of good character
- physically and mentally healthy.
TOURIST/VISITOR
Tourists and visitors can obtain entry permits for up to two months, provided they satisfy the general conditions mention above and:
- Have a return or onward airline ticket to a destination beyond Papua New Guinea and authority to enter therein;
- Have funds to maintain themselves (K300.00 a month) or will be maintain by relatives;
- They do not engage in any form of employment whether paid or unpaid; and Any other conditions that may be imposed on arrival.
Other non-working entrants: Persons entering for entertainment, research, filming, journalism, aid or religious purposes must state the purpose of their visit when lodging their request for an entry permit. This statement must be supported, in writing, by a sponsor in PNG.
Visitor Visa - Classes:
- Tourist (Tour Package): Group tours, student excursion groups, etc.
- Tourist (Own Itinerary): Individuals who wish to sightsee independently, travel, or visit friends, etc.
- Easy Visitor Permits (EVP): EVPs are strictly issued upon arrival in PNG.
- Visiting Relative: For individuals visiting husbands, wives, or other family members.
- Journalist: For reporters, TV presenters, announcers, correspondents.
- Sportsperson: For sporting personalities visiting for short sports related stays.
- Film-maker (Non-commercial): For individuals who wish to make not-for-profit or public release films.
- Yachtsperson: Owner, captain, and crew of a yacht as well as any accompanying spouse and/or children.

Holders of this type of entry permit are not allowed to work in PNG.

Where To Apply
To apply for any type of Visitor Visa you will need to go to a PNG Diplomatic Mission.
Applications for tourist/visiting relative Entry Permits (for eligible nationals) can also be made on arrival at designated international ports of entry.
For those arriving by yacht, application can be made at PNGICSA or at the designated international port of entry.
