Application
- To apply for a Student Visa/Entry Permit you will need to complete Application for Entry Permit (Form 1). You may download the form using the link provided under 'Documents to Use' section.
- Submit your application form, passport and supporting documents at the relevant PNG diplomatic mission.
- Pay the Migration Service Fee (MSF) as set out in the Entry Permit Fee Form provide all required documentary evidence (see list below).
Extension Of Stay
Student Entry Permits are Multiple Entry and are issued up to the length of the course. Entry permits for government-sponsored students may be issued according to the length of the sponsorship.
Extensions can be granted if required.
To apply for an extension, you will need to:
- Fill out the "Application to Extend Entry Permit" (Form 4).
- Provide supporting documentation from the institution or organization indicating purpose of extension.
- Pay the MSF as set out in the Entry Permit Fee Form and provide receipt.
Required DocumentsEdit
Formal Education:
- Letter of Acceptance from the educational institution.
Occupational Trainee:
- Letter from institution or organization indicating purpose of training.
- Letter of Undertaking from the sponsoring organization guaranteeing repatriation of the trainee.
To be issued a Dependent Entry Permit:
- Must be included in letter of acceptance from PNG educational institution/organization;
- Must be included in the principal applicants letter of undertaking (for occupational trainees).

EligibilityEdit
The main conditions for the issuance of the permit are common to all applicants:
- they must have accommodation available
- be not adversely recorded from a security point of view
- be of good character
- physically and mentally healthy.
Student Visa - Classes:
- Formal Education: Person undertaking full time studies in PNG institutions.
- Occupational Trainee: Person entering PNG to undertake workplace-based training in order to upgrade or develop their skills (including students undertaking medical electives).
Dependent: Dependent spouse or children under the age of 18 of the principal applicant.
