Procedure

• The first step is to obtain the document of your childs birth from the corresponding hospital or clinic.
• After this you will need the photocopy of the childs parents and get them attested from a Governments officer.
• Once you have these documents, go to the Union Council office with jurisdiction over the child's addresse, register the child's birth, and request for birth Certificate.
• The officer will check the documents and inform you if anything else is required.
• Once your application is submitted you will receive your birth certificate within 4-5 days.

Apply Online

• If you want to apply online for a birth certificate then there are many websites from where this is possible.
• You first have to submit your query to them which will ask about very basic information.
• Then their agent will contact you and request you for the documents.
• Once you have mailed the documents, rest of the process will be done by the company and you will receive you birth certificate at home.

• Copy of birth certificate issued by the Hospital (attested)
• Copy of Mothers CNIC (attested)
• Copy of Fathers CNIC (attested)
• In-case you are applying for birth certificate for yourself, you will need your own CNIC copy (attested)

Eligibility

Any person born in the Republic of Pakistan is eligible to apply for birth certificate from NADRA. You need the birth certificate generated by the hospital, or in-case you are re-applying you will need the CNIC copy.

Fees

As per NADRA no fee is charged for birth certificate if it is obtained within 60 days of the birth and in-case of computerized ones 100 rupees are charged.

Validity

The birth certificate issued by NADRA is valid for lifetime.

Instructions

• You can apply for Birth Certificate at the time of the birth of your child, or later on for yourself too when you need it.
• Birth certificate issues by NADRA are fully computerized and are available in both Urdu and English languages.
• Once you apply for birth certificate the record against the applicant is checked in the Municipality office based on the name, and date of birth of the applicant and the place where he was born.
• If record is present, certificate is issued as per the details already present else you will have to register with late fee and provide supporting documents to complete the procedure.
