Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Residential Building Contractor License in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA).
- Address and contact details can be found at the bottom of the following Contact link
- Visit the office and obtain an application form for Residential Building Contractor License from the relevant department.
- Make sure that all the documents in the “Required Documents” section of this page are available.
- Complete the application as per convenience, attest it with signature and attach the required documents with the application form.
- Then, submit the application package to the relevant authority at the office.
- The license fees range from $750 to $3000 and can be paid as cash or through any of the available payment modes.
- Upon receipt of the application and all the required information, the Department will proceed to review and assess the submitted information.
- On completion of the review, the office will inform the applicant through email to collect the License.
Apply online
- To apply for Residential Building Contractor License online, the applicant has to visit the following Apply online
- Visit the link and click “Sign Up/Sign In” button. In the next page, enter the email address and password in the respective fields.
- Click “Sign in” button to sign in and proceed to apply. If the applicant is new to the portal, they should click “Sign up now” link and create a new account.
- In the next page, enter the email address and click “Send Verification code”. An email will be sent to the provided email address with a code for verification.
- Copy the verification code and paste it in the verification code field. Then, click “Verify code” button.
- Create a new password for the account and click “Create” button. In the next page, read the terms and conditions and check the box, then click “Continue” button.
- The user will be redirected to the portal and they can edit their profile initially by providing the required details about their business.
- Once done, the applicant should click “Applications & Renewals” option from the left side menu and click “Submit New Application” button under “New Builder/Vendor Applications” title.
- The application has 13 steps and the applicant has to complete each step with all the required details.
- The online portal also enhances the applicant to pay the license fees that ranges from $750 to $3000. Follow the on-screen instructions in the payment page and make the payment.
- Submit the application by clicking the applicable button. Upon receipt of the application and all the required information, the Department will proceed to review and assess the submitted information.
- On completion of the review, the office will inform the applicant through email to collect the License.

- Any builder or vendor of new homes can apply.
- The applicant must have undergone criminal record and judicial matters checks.
- A builder or vendor applying for a licence as a first-time applicant must meet the competency requirements.
