Apply by Mail:

  1. To Apply for Engineering License, the applicant has to approach the Engineers Canada link
  2. Once the application is completed with the training and insurance process, the applicant has to visit the office.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
  8. The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
  9. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  11. The applicant may be required to complete additional requirements, such as an interview, technical examinations, or ethics and law courses.
  12. Before your license is granted, you will likely need to provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage. The regulatory body will provide information on the required insurance and acceptable providers.
  13. If your application is approved and you have met all the requirements, you will be issued an Engineering license. The regulatory body will provide you with your license and any accompanying documentation.
  14. This entire process can be completed within 15 – 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

The eligibility requirements to apply for an engineering license in Canada

  • Have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
