WITHIN THE SULTANATE

1.) The person concerned must personally report to the proper authority.

2.) He must fill up the form related to the lost of the Omani Passport.

3.) He must also submit three (3) photographs with blue background sized 4x6.

3.) The search for the passport shall pursue for a period not inferior to through months from the date of reporting.

ABROAD

1.) The applicant should approach the nearest Omani diplomatic mission at the place where the passport has been misplaced.

2.) He must fill up the form related to the lost of the Omani Passport.

3.) He must also submit three (3) photographs with blue background sized 4x6.

3.) The search for the passport shall pursue for a period not inferior to through months from the date of reporting.

InstructionsEdit

The Directorate of General Passports and Residence carry out all works relating to passports, identity cards, visas, residence permits, and road permits etc. It provides its services at airports, sea ports and border posts as well as from its main office at the ROP Force Headquarters and the regional sections.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A passport is a document that certifies the identity and nationality of the holder for travel abroad, it is issued by the national government. It contains informations about the holder; like name, gender, date and place of birth.

This document does not in itself entitle the passport holder entry into another country, nor consular protection while abroad nor any other privileges. However, it does normally allows the passport holder to return to the country where the passport was issued. Rights to consular protection arises from international treaties, while the holder's return to the issuing country depends on the laws prevailing in that country.

A replacement passport may be issued in case of loss provided a report was filed and a certain amount of time was spent on locating the lost passport.
