Oman - Apply for a License to Collect and Transport Firewood

ProcedureEdit

  1. To obtain a permit for collecting dry firewood you will need to file a request with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs' Biodiversity Development Department.
  2. If you are applying for a permanent license, you will need to prepare/submit these following documents:
    1. Salary certificate
    2. Social security ID card
    3. A letter from the Public Authority for Manpower Register that he is a job seeker for more than 6 months
  3. The application is processed through the Ministry’s website. LINK
  4. Login using Digital Certification Service (Tam):
    1. To log in using ID Card Requires :
      ID Card / Resident Card
      Pin Code
      Card Reader
    2. To log in using Mobile Requires :
      Mobile Simcard
      Pin Code
  5. After logging in, simply complete the online application form and enclose all the required documents.
  6. Your application will be assessed.
  7. A field visit will be conducted in case you are applying for a permanent permit
  8. A report will be written after visit and once your application is approved they will issue the permit.

For permanent licenses

  • The applicant should be at least 30 years old.
  • He should not be working at the private or the public sector
  • Should be a member of low income families or pensioners with monthly salary not more than RO350

  • Permanent Permit  : six renewable months
  • Temporary Permit  : two days non – renewable

Processing TimeEdit

If you are applying for a permanent permit, it will take about 14 working days for your application to be processed. Applications to obtain a temporary permit are processed within two days.
