Apply In-Person
- File an FIR in your nearby police station stating that your sale deed is lost, misplaced, or stolen.
- You can check the status of your FIR online before visiting the Sub-Registrar's office (SRO). The address of every office available in the state, link
- Visit the Sub-Registrar’s office where your property is registered and make an application to get the certified copy of your sale deed after the waiting period.
- Then, prepare an Affidavit on stamped paper.
- You have to state everything that happened and sign an undertaking. Attach the FIR, newspaper ads, and other press clippings (if any) to the Affidavit.
- The deed application form for an offline procedure is available in the Sub Registrar's Office.
- In the deed application form that you have to submit along with your Affidavit and documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section. Fill in every detail such as year, type, and document number along with your name and contact number.
- After paying the required fee in the Sub-Registrar's office, hand over the deed application with FIR, newspaper ads, and Affidavit.
- After verification, a certified copy of the deed will be issued by the Sub-Registrar office.
- Note: Advertising in the newspapers is a statutory requirement. And get a copy of your FIR before publishing because some news companies require one when you enquire to be published.

- The Government of Odisha provides service to download a certified copy of the sale deed and other documents at Link
- On the home page of the Inspector General of Registration Revenue & Disaster Management Department, log in if you are an already existing member. If not, click the “New User” button.
- An e-form will appear. Fill in your details such as name, address, number, security question, mobile number, and login-id.
- Once you check the user name availability and click “submit” button, your id and password will be generated.
- Once your details are generated, go back to the homepage and log in using your id and password.
- You will have an “Apply New CC” option under the “Certified Copy” box on your dashboard, click on it, and an e-form will appear on your screen.
- On the e-form, fill in details like name, address, Sub-Registrar’s office , Registration number, Aadhar number, and other mandatory fields and click the search button.
- A table with sale deed details will appear. Click the “add” button to proceed with the sale deed generation process.
- The document will be added, and the table will reappear with a proceed button. Click on it if you want to continue.
- The payment process starts now, and the website will prompt you again to confirm. Click the “Confirm & Proceed” option to pay.
- Your details with the amount to pay will appear. Click on “Pay Now.” A popup window will appear with some disclaimers, and you can proceed by clicking the “OK” button.
- Now you will be guided towards a secure payment gateway. The applicant can make the payment through UPI, Credit or Debit Card/ Net Banking, and more.
- Once your payment is successful, go back to the home page and check out the “View Application Status” option under the “Certified Copy box.”
- The applicant can view the copy and download it there, once the request has been approved.
