- A person desirous of applying for Areas Extension of a Firearm license should visit the Commissioner of Police's office or Magistrate's office in their district. Contact link
- The required application form can be obtained from the Commissioner’s office.
- The applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
- Fill in your name, contact details, license details, and address.
- Complete the application form and submit it along with the required documents to the authority for approval.
- The required documents are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The state's licensing authority will approve the application if the application is eligible for extension.
- The fee to be paid differs for each weapon. Check the "Fees" section of this page for details.
- The processing time for the Area Extension of Firearms varies for each state.
- The extended license can be collected from the Commissioner of Police's office.
Apply Online
- To Cancel or Remove (Delete) Ownership of Firearm (Gun) License, the applicant has to use the following link – link
- The applicant has to click the “State Home Department/DM/SDM/Other/MHA” button.
- Now select the category, state, district, name of the licensing authority, and service.
- The applicant has to enter the unique identification code (UIC), and captcha code and click the “Get Detail” button.
- To complete step – 2, the applicant has to enter all the details in license specific details segment.
- For the third step complete the endorsement details.
- And upload all the necessary documents which are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Fee details will be mentioned in the following step; the applicant has to pay the fee online mode.
- After completing all the processes, the applicant has to click the “Save & Submit” button.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be downloaded. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant gets the cancellation firearm license with the authority's signature through email.
- The processing time for this procedure is up to 45 days.

Need for the DocumentEdit
If a person holding a firearm license changes their residence, permanently or temporarily or for any period of more than six months, this procedure is mandatory.
