Procedure

1. Go to your regional Motor Vehicles Division to apply.
2. Fill out the application form for identification card. Application for General Identification Card: http://www.edt.gov.nu.ca/apps/UPLOADS/fck/file/app_gic.pdf
3. Submit the application form and present two pieces of valid identification documents.

Eligibility

The minimum age to apply for this card is 12 years old.

Fees

For a first time applicant the GIC is free.

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.
e.g. Birth Certificate Valid Forever

• If client is under 18 years of age requires signature of client's parent or guardian.
• Parent or guardian must show two (2) acceptable Identification.

• hair colour
• sex
• weight
• height
