Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for a Permanent Resident Card (PR Card), the applicant has to approach the Canada Government link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the application form can be downloaded from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
- The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- The fee details for this procedure are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the officer will get a call from the office for the biometric purpose.
- The applicant has to visit the office on the appointment date for biometric purposes also the officer will ask questions for confirmation to complete the process.
- Once all types of the process get completed successfully, the applicant will get the card through the mail.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
- Any Canadian citizenship person who has permanent residence is eligible to make this application.
FeesEdit
- The applicant will have to pay a fee of 50$ for the PR card.
- Biometric fee (per person) – 85$
- Biometrics (per family) (2 or more people) – 170$
ValidityEdit
- The PR card is valid for five years after which it needs to be renewed.

- If the applicant does not carry the PR card or PRTD, the applicant may not be able to board your flight, train, bus, or boat to Canada.
- It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure that the PR card is still valid when the applicant returns from travel outside Canada and to apply for a new PR card before the current card expires.
