Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Black Entrepreneurship Program in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Federation of African Canadian Economics.
- The address and contact details of the Federation can be found in the following contact link
- The applicant has to visit the office and approach the relevant official who is responsible for receiving Black Entrepreneurship Program applications.
- The official in-charge will instruct the applicant how to complete the application process.
- The official may ask the applicant to complete a questionnaire in order to know the information of the applicant.
- List of required documents is present in the “Required Documents” section of this page. The applicant should carefully follow instructions of the official.
- The applicant has to provide the documents to the official in-charge during the application process, as applicable.
- After completion and submission of the questionnaire and other required documents, the documents will be initially reviewed by FACE’s Lending support analyst.
- The service is free and the applicant need not pay anything for the process.
- Upon obtaining approval from the analyst, the file will then be analyzed by the Entrepreneurship Loan Officer (ELO). Once approved by the ELO, it will then be reviewed by the Ad-hoc committee for a final approval.
- In further steps, the ELO will communicate the applicant regarding the release of loan funds. The applicant can also check with FACE office for the application progress.
- The applicant will also receive text messages in their mobile number regarding the status changes of the application.
Apply online
- To apply for Black Entrepreneurship Program online, the applicant has to visit the following online application link
- If the applicant has an account in the portal, he/she has to click the “Login” link which is present at the bottom.
- In the login page, the applicant should enter the user details in the respective fields and click “Login” button.
- If not, the applicant has to enter the required details in the ‘register’ page, click the ‘privacy’ tick box and click “Create an account” button.
- A verification email will be sent to the provided email address, open it and click on the “Verify email address” button.
- The applicant will be redirected into the online application form in his/her FACE account. Click “Start Application” button to begin to apply.
- ‘User Consent’ dialogue box will appear, click the mandatory check boxes and click “I Authorize” button.
- List of questions will be displayed at the right side of the screen. The applicant has to all the mandatory questions by clicking the “Edit” option.
- After clicking the button, the question will expand with the respective choices from which the applicant should select a choice and click “Continue” button or press “Enter” button.
- Once the applicant answered a question, the screen will display the next question. Consecutively, the applicant should answer the questions by clicking the applicable answer.
- If any question is not mandatory and it is not applicable to the applicant, he/she can skip it by clicking “Skip question” button.
- At the final section of the questionnaire, the applicant will have to upload the required documents by clicking the “Drop your PDF” button. List of required documents is present in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Then, the applicant has to click “Submit” button after completing the questionnaire. If the applicant needs to change anything among the answered questions, he/she should click “Edit Application” button and proceed.
- As a receipt of acknowledgement, an email will be sent to the email address by the applicant. After submission, the documents will be initially reviewed by FACE’s Lending support analyst.

EligibilityEdit
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and should be eligible to identify themselves as blacks.
- Applicant must be at least a permanent resident of Canada and his/her business must be majorly owned by blacks.
- In case of multiple shareholders, majority shareholdings and voting rights must favour a black majority of no less than 51%.
- Businesses such as Sole trading, Corporations (Ltd, Inc) and Partnerships (limited & non-limited) are eligible.

- The Fund will provide loans of up to $250,000 to support Black business owners and entrepreneurs across Canada and lay the foundation for future success and long-term change.
- The loan program will fund existing businesses (to a maximum of $250,000) and start-ups (to a maximum of $50,000) under two programs namely the macro loan pilot program and micro loan program.
