This procedure explains various ways to Apply for Student Visa in Northern Mindanao.

Conversion to Student VisaEdit

  1. Get CGAF from either at the Public Information and Assistance Unit (PIAU) at BI G/F Main Office or from the official BI Website.
  2. Submit the documents for pre-screening to the Central Receiving Unit (CRU) or to the frontline officer or staff of other Immigration Offices able to process this transaction.
  3. Pay the required fees.
  4. Submit copy of Official Receipt.
  5. Proceed to Image and Fingerprint Capturing Counter of the Alien Registration Division (ARD) and submit requirements for ACR I-Card application
  6. Check website if visa application is already approved.
  7. If approved, submit passport for visa implementation.
  8. If ACR I-Card is approved, claim ACR I-Card.

Extension of Student VisaEdit

  1. Get CGAF from either at the Public Information and Assistance Unit (PIAU) at BI G/F Main Office or from the official BI Website.
  2. Submit the documents for pre-screening to the Central Receiving Unit (CRU) or to the frontline officer or staff of other Immigration Offices able to process this transaction.
  3. Pay the required fees.
  4. Submit copy of Official Receipt.
  5. Attend hearing.
  6. For visa extension application, the biometric data previously captured during the visa conversion shall be used in the printing of the renewed ACR I-Card. However, applicants aged ten (10) years and below shall have their image and fingerprint captured every extension of visa. Applicants aged eleven (11) years and above shall have their image and fingerprint captured every after five (5) years.
  7. Check website if visa application is already approved.
  8. If approved, submit passport for visa implementation.
  9. If ACR I-Card is approved, claim ACR I-Card.

Conversion to Student VisaEdit

  • Joint letter request addressed to the Commissioner from the authorized representative of the petitioning school and applicant, using the school letterhead with dry seal;
  • Duly accomplished CGAF (BI Form 2014-00-003 Rev 0);
  • Photocopy of passport bio-page and latest admission with valid authorized stay;
  • Notice of Acceptance of the applicant bearing a clear impression of the schools official dry seal;
  • Endorsement addressed to the Commissioner from the school for the conversion of the applicants status, signed by the School Registrar;
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Admission from Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in case of Medicine/Dentistry;
  • Photocopy of passport page bearing the valid Bureau of Quarantine Clearance and International Health Surveillance stamp;
  • Medical Certificate issued by the Bureau of Quarantine and International Health Surveillance or a government medical institution with competence to certify that the applicant is not afflicted with any dangerous, contagious or loathsome disease and is mentally fit;
  • CHED Endorsement for transfer and shifting of course, if applicable;
  • National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance for a foreign student enrolling from bachelors degree to postgraduate
  • Photocopy of BI school accreditation ID of the registrar or school representative; and
  • BI Clearance Certificate

Extension of Student VisaEdit

  • Certificate of Re-admission or Enrollment Form;
  • Honorable Dismissal or Certificate of Transfer from previous school, in case of transfer;
  • Commission on Higher Education (CHED) endorsement, in case of shifting of course and/or transfer of school;
  • Letter of Explanation for failed grades or dropped subjects, if applicable;
  • Photocopy of applicants ACR I-Card (front and back portions);
  • Photocopy of BI school accreditation ID of the registrar or the school representative; and
  • BI Clearance Certificate

Conversion to Student Visa

All foreign nationals who are at least 18 years old and shall take up a course of study higher than high school at a University, seminary or college.

Extension of student Visa

Foreign nationals who are holders of an existing Student Visa and wishes to continue his study in the Philippines.
