Apply by mail

  1. To Register as Meat and Poultry Handlers, the applicant has to mail the completed application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service link
  2. The applicant has to download the application form from the given following link
  3. The applicant has to enter all the necessary details in the application form.
  4. Applicant has to enter the details online, and has to take a print for submitting process.
  5. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Submit the completed form and the necessary documents to the mailing address.
  8. The mailing address details are mentioned under the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
  9. The fee for this registration is free of cost.
  10. In most cases, field personnel can arrange a visit with the applicant within one week of notification by the respective office.
  11. Once on-site, the registration typically takes around 2 hours.
  12. Once all the verification is done by the authority, the applicant receives a notification through a mail.
  13. The applicant can download the handlers license within 7 -10 days.
