Procedure

COREN ceases to collect hard copy application form for Engineering Personnel Registration. All applications are to be submitted online.
Apply Online

1. To apply for registering with Council for the Regulation of Engineers (COREN) online, the applicant has visit the following link:Link
2. Before that you have to download and complete the following forms with required details which will be required to be uploaded during the online registration process:

   • COREN PROPOSER FORM:Link
   • Work Experience: Link

3. Now, visit the registration page and enter the required details in the respective details, check the declaration box and click “Get started” button.
4. Payment/Payment confirmation box will appear. You will be to fill all the basic details required before proceeding to pay for your registration fee online.
5. Choose an applicable category and cost of each category is as indicated.Fill all the basic details, click on the “Register” button, it will bring up a pop box to verify your payment details.
6. On confirming your payment details, click on “Pay” button, you will be directed to Remita payment gateway.
7. You can pay online with your Credit Card or print the generated Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number and proceed to any of the bank listed on the Remita Payment Gateway page to make payment.
8. On successful payment, your registration process will be automatically activated. Click on the “Login” button to continue with your registration. Choose the ‘Registered Applicant’ Option as Login Type.
9. Enter the Email Address and Password you used when registering to login. After logging in, click on ‘Application’ tab by the left, it will load all the information you are expected to fill.
10. Click on ‘Profile Info’, fill the details under Basic, Contact and Other Information. Click on all other relevant tab – Education, Work Experience, Membership of Engineering Bodies, Non Nigerian Extra Info (For Non-Nigerian only) and complete them with required details.
11. Click on ‘Document tab’ to upload relevant document including Technical Report of not more than 3 Pages in MS Word Format.Scan and upload Original Copies of your Credentials. No single upload must be more than 500kb.
12. When done, click on ‘Application Approval’ under the ‘Request’ tab to submit your application. Then click on “Request Application Approval” button to submit your application.
13. After application lodgement, the Council will communicate by any available means. You will be officially invited for the process.
14. You will be informed about the interview and the documents required. Attend the interview through the specifiedsatisfying all the conditions specified.
15. Further instructions will be supplied to you by the relevant official and the registration certificate will be issued with prior notification, if your interview is successful.

Eligibility

• Any Engineering Personnel in Nigeria, who wishes to get registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineers (COREN), can apply.
• Nigerians residing abroad are also eligible to get registered.
• He/she must possess all the transcripts required for the registration at the time of application.

Instructions

• All payments must be initiated from the portal but can be made online, bank or other channels provided by Remita. Only payment transactions that originated from the portal will automatically unlock your registration account.

• Always ensure you use a valid email address and phone number when filling the form as this will be used to communicate to you throughout the registration process.

• Applicants registered with COREN as a Technologist can apply as an Engineer one year after obtaining their PGD from a COREN accredited university.

• Applicants writing professional interview must upload their certificate andbring it to the exam venue.
