Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Change of Vehicle Ownership in person, the applicant has to visit the nearest Vehicle Licensing Office in his/her state.
  2. The contact and address details of the approved Vehicle Licensing Offices for each state in Nigeria can be found in the following page: Link
  3. Visit the VIO with all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  4. Obtain the necessary forms to be completed for Changing Vehicle Ownership from the concerned department and complete with required information under relevant sections.
  5. Complete the application form(s) as required and attach the required documents with the completed form(s).
  6. Submit the form(s) and documents to the concerned department at the office for further verification processes.
  7. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed with ownership transfer process.
  8. Further, the ownership will be transferred to the respective person as per the applicant’s request and the concerned person will be notified to collect the updated ownership certificate.
