Apply In Person:
- To Apply for a Special Pass, the applicant has to approach the Nigerian Immigration Service link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Depending on the nature of the application, the applicant may be required to attend an interview or provide additional information as requested by the Nigerian Immigration Service. Cooperate and provide the necessary details or attend the interview as required.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued a Special Pass that allows the applicant to enter and stay in Nigeria for the specified duration and purpose. Make sure to adhere to the conditions and restrictions outlined in the pass.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 – 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Valid passport with at least six months' validity.
- Completed application form.
- Letter of invitation or supporting documents from the host organization or individual in Nigeria.
- Detailed itinerary of the applicant’s stay in Nigeria.
- Proof of financial means to cover the applicant’s expenses during the stay.
- Medical report (if required).
- Two recent passport-sized photographs.
- Any other documents (If required)
