Apply Online

1. To apply for a Replacement of a lost or stolen Passport online, the applicant must visit the Nigerian Immigration Portal by clicking the following link:Link
2. In the opening page, select the passport type, processing country, change type as “Lost Replacement Request”, and provide the Passport number by using the applicable options, then click “Start Application” button.
3. Your application process will begin and in the step 1, you have to provide some of your basic details and contact details, then click “Next” button.
4. Similarly, read the instructions and complete the second step with details as required and click “Submit Application” button. In the next step, read the instructions listed, go through the details, and click “Print & Continue” button.
5. Print the completed application form for submitting at the office and click “Continue Application” button to proceed for paying the required fees.
6. Go through the information present in the next page and click “Proceed to Online Payments” button. Select the Payment currency in the next page and click “Continue” button.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions and make the payment as applicable, also print the receipt.
8. After payment, your application lodgement will be over and you will be provided with payment reference number.
9. Then, you have to take all the documents required to be submitted and visit the Passport office that you chose during the online application.
10. Visit the office and submit the required documents to the relevant authority in the office. After submission, the submitted applications and attached documents will put forth for verification and validation.
11. After checking and finding that the requirements have been furnished properly, the officials will proceed to perform further required actions for the re-issue.
12. Once all the necessary processes are over and Passport document is ready for collection, you will be notified and asked to collect the document.

• Report from Fire Service (in case it is lost in a fire outbreak)
• Sworn affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court (for deposed Passport)

Eligibility

• Any person living in Nigeria, who had a passport previously and lost it by any means, can apply for a replacement.
• Dispersed Nigerians can also apply.

Fees

• It costs a total amount of N22000.00.

• Adults and Minors (32 pages): 5 years
  
• Adults and Minors (64 pages): 5 years
  
• Adults (18+) only (64 pages): 10 years

Instructions

• If a passport was declared lost and reissued, if recovered, the holder shall immediately notify the Nigeria Immigration Service of recovery and submit passport for cancellation.
• Nigerians outside their homelands are to submit application at the nearest Nigeria Embassy/High Commission or Consulate.
• Applicants are required to appear at chosen Immigration Office for photograph and biometric data capturing if current passport is more than six (6) months old.
• Applicants are advised to follow the note under each field and carefully complete the application as per the instructions.
