Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Pattern Approval Certificate in person, the applicant has to visit the Weights & Measures Department of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

3. Visit the office and obtain the application form for Pattern Approval Certificatefrom the relevant department.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form as required with appropriate details and information. Attest the application form with your signature.
6. Attach the documents with the completed application form.
7. Submit the application form and attached documents to the relevant authority at the office. Pay the applicable fees as directed by the officials.
8. After submission, technical officers will examine the design of the instrument and may perform a physical inspection of the device onsite.
9. The reports including results of analysis are assessed and recommendations made to the Director General of FMITI for approval.
10. Upon approval of the Director, the applicant is informed regarding the approval through phone or email and asked to collect the Certificate through any applicable means.
