- To Apply for NUPRC (DPR) License, the applicant has to make the application online via link
- The applicant has to enter the register details and click the “Next” button.
- Followed by create a password and click the “Register” button.
- Now the applicant has to log in with the username and password and click the “Login Now” button.
- The applicant has to select the form from the menu list.
- Enter all the details in the application form.
- And upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Pay the prescribed amount fee in online mode.
- Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Depending on the nature of the license or permit, the DPR might conduct on-site inspections to verify that the operations or facilities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- If the application is approved and the applicant meets all the requirements, the DPR will issue the license or permit.
- This entire process can be completed within 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

To be eligible to apply for a NUPRC (DPR) License in Nigeria, one must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen or a company incorporated in Nigeria.
- Have a minimum paid-up capital of NGN100 million for upstream activities and NGN50 million for downstream activities.
- Have a valid business registration certificate from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
- Have a valid tax clearance certificate from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
- Have a valid certificate of good conduct from the police.
- Have a valid environmental impact assessment (EIA) report.
- Have a valid occupational safety and health (OSH) certificate.
- Have a valid insurance policy for oil and gas operations.
