Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for NTI Programme in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the National Teachers' Institute in Nigeria.
2. The address and contact details can be found in the following link: Link
3. Visit the office and obtain an application form for National Teachers' Institute Programme from the Admission Department.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “required documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
6. Once completed filling the application form, make sure that you attached all the documents required.
7. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment as directed by the officials.
8. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
9. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps for the admission.
10. After the necessary processes, an admission letter will be issued to the applicant by any applicable means.
11. Then, the applicant will be instructed by the officials about the application status and further processes.
12. Meanwhile, the applicant can also check the status of his/her application by contacting the office where the application has been made.
    

Apply Online

1. To apply for NTI Programme online, the applicant has to visit the following link: Link
2. Visit the online application page, provide the details asked for and click “Apply” button.
3. A confirmation message will appear, click ‘Wait Let me check again’ if you want to check and change or click ‘Okay, submit form’ if you are sure that all the details entered are correct.
4. Course selection page will open. Make your selections as applicable and click “Continue” button.
5. In the next page, payment details will be displayed. Note it down and click “Pay via Remita” button if you wish to pay online.
6. Follow the onscreen instructions and make the payment. Or click “Save invoice” if you wish to pay at any bank branch.
7. You can either download and save the invoice or print the invoice in the corresponding dialogue box. Click the button as applicable and proceed.
8. Make the payment at any bank branch and get the receipt of successful payment. After that, login into the portal by using the user credentials you entered.
9. In the student’s dashboard, you can download the Admission letter by clicking the applicable option.
10. After downloading the admission letter, click the applicable option to access the ‘File uploads’ section and upload the require documents by following the onscreen instructions.
11. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
12. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps for the further processes.
13. This will be communicated to the applicant through phone or email.

Eligibility

• Any person in Nigeria, pursuing teacher profession wishes to start or move further in their teacher education with the National Teachers’ Institute, can apply.
• Applicants for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme are expected to possess a minimum of a First degree (BA/B.Sc), Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent in languages, social sciences, basic sciences or other related disciplines with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division or Lower Credit respectively.
• Applicants pursuing Bachelors Degree Programme should have Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with merit pass or (C) grade.
• In case of NCE applicants, any one of the following like Grade II Teachers’ Certificate (TC-II), Pivotal Teachers’ Certificate (PTC), WASC, National Examination Council Certificate, GCE, NABTEB Certificate or HISC is necessary.
• Advanced Diploma in Education applicants require at least an NCE Certificate from a RECOGNIZED College of Education.
• Pivotal Teacher Training Programme pursuant should have “O” level with minimum of two credits and three passes in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB or TC II referred or PTC referred or HIS Certificate or any other similar qualifications.
