Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Orientation Programme (FPGOP) in person, the applicant must visit the office of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- The address and contact details of the PCN can be found in the link below: link
- The applicant should first make a written application for participation in the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Orientation Programme (FPGOP).
- Visit the office of the PCN with the written application and other required documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- Obtain an application form for FPGOP from the relevant department. Or click here to download: application form
- Complete the application form with required details in relevant fields under respective sections.
- Attach the written application, required documents with the completed application form and submit it to the relevant official at the office.
- Also pay the necessary fees as directed by the officials and submit the proof at the office.
- On receipt of the application and necessary documents, the office will verify and examine the submitted documents.
- The Registry will notify each candidate directly in writing, regarding the status of his or her application including any deficiency(ies).
- After necessary processes, if all requirements are satisfactorily met, the candidate will receive letter of acceptance for the FPGOP by any applicable means.
- With the acceptance letter, the applicant is allowed to attend the programme which will be five weeks comprising of four (4) weeks of lectures, practical’s, hospital and field visitations and one week of examinations.

- Any foreign-trained Pharmacy Graduate, who wants get registered as a Pharmacist based on that, can apply.
- The applicant’s undergraduate pharmacy degree should have been conferred by a recognized school of pharmacy outside Nigeria.

The cost of the programme is $600.00 or its Naira equivalent.

- The applicant must complete and submit a current form each time he or she applies for the FPGOP, regardless of whether applications have been submitted in the past.
- Applicants are advised to obtain a copy of the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Orientation Programme (FPGOP) manual for further details.

Any Foreign-trained Graduate, who wishes to be registered in Nigeria as a pharmacist, must take up and complete the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Orientation Programme (FPGOP).
Information which might helpEdit
- Foreign nationals who graduate from schools in Nigeria are not inclusive in this programme.
- Applicant’s name, as it appears on the application form will be used in all communications with PCN.
- Success of FPGOP examination is not a license to practice pharmacy.
- Those who pass the examination will proceed for the twelve months continuous internship programme after which they will be eligible for registration.
