Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Export Warehouse License or Permit in person, the applicant has to make an application at any office of the Nigeria Customs Service.

3. Visit the area command with a Formal Application for Export Warehouse License or Permit.
4. The application should contain appropriate details and required information with respect to your license requirement.
5. Make sure that you have all documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page, when you visit the office.
6. After that, attach all the required documents with the application and submit them to the Area Controller at the office.
7. Pay the required amount of fees as directed. Then, the officials will proceed to perform the internal processes with respect to the applicant’s request.
8. Initially, your attached documents and application form will be forwarded to the Comptroller General’s office and to check for sufficiency and appropriateness.
9. If found sufficient, further necessary tasks will be accomplished by the concerned officials for the issuance of license.
10. Once all the tasks and processes are over, applicant will be intimated through phone or email, to collect the license.

Eligibility

• Any organization in Nigeria, that intends to set up an Export Warehouse in its own premises, can apply.
• The applicant must be a reputable corporate body with necessary facilities to be operated as a Bonded Warehouse.
• The applicant should provide sufficient evidence for its economic loss which it would face if the application has been declined.
