Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for an Emergency Travel Certificate in person, the applicant must visit any Nigerian High Commission or Consulate in his/her nationality.
  2. The contact link of the Nigeria Immigration Service can be found in the link: Link
  3. Contact the Nigeria Immigration Service and enquire for a Diplomatic mission in your country.
  4. Obtain the details and visit the office with all the required documents as instructed. You can also refer the “Required documents” section of this page.
  5. Get the application form for obtaining an Emergency Travel Certificate from the office. Now, complete the application form as required with relevant details.
  6. After completing the application form, attach all the documents required and submit it to the relevant authority at the office.
  7. After submission, the submitted applications and attached documents will put forth for verification and validation.
  8. After checking and finding that the requirements have been furnished properly, the officials will proceed to perform further required actions.
  9. Once all the necessary processes are over and Travel Certificate is ready for collection, you will be notified and asked to collect the document.

  • Applicants can enquire the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Nigerian Immigration Services for contact and address details of a diplomatic mission in his/her country of nationality.
  • Payments shall be done through postal order only after successful completion of interview by the officer of immigration.
  • Make sure that the application and attached documents are complete to avoid rejections.
