Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Alcohol Importer License or Permit in person, the applicant has to make an application at the area command of the Nigeria Customs Service.

  3. Visit the area command with a Written Application for Alcohol Importer License or Permit.
  4. Make sure that you have all documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page, when you visit the office.
  5. Complete the application form with appropriate details and required information as asked, with respect to your license requirement.
  6. After that, attach all the required documents with the application form and submit them to the Area Controller at the office.
  7. Pay the required amount of fees as directed. Then, the officials will proceed to perform the internal processes with respect to the applicant’s request.
  8. Initially, your attached documents and application form will be forwarded to the Comptroller General’s office and to check for sufficiency and appropriateness.
  9. If found sufficient, further necessary tasks will be accomplished by the concerned officials for the issuance of license.
  10. Once all the tasks and processes are over, applicant will be intimated through phone or email, to collect the license.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any organization inside Nigeria, that wishes to involve in importof Alcohol with other countries, can apply.
  • The organisation must have registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
  • The organisation must possess an Incorporation Certificate.
  • The applying entity must have properly registered with the Federal Inland Revenue Services of Nigeria and possess a Tax Identification Number.

  • Generally, the importer should start with registering his/her company with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.
  • The company must have an account in any Authorised Dealer Bank of Nigeria which will be required for the processing of E-form M and Pre Arrival Assessment Report.
  • The importer should be aware that an import permit for the products to be imported is necessary with respect to the kind of products. It may be an NAFDAC permit or a DPR permit or any regulatory permit.
  • The importer should make sure that the documents of importation are required to contain the name of the product, country of origin, specifications, date of manufacture, batch number, and standard to which the goods have been produced.

  • The applicant has to register as an importer in the above link and proceed to utilize the services offered.
