Procedure

Apply Online

1. To apply for Oil and Gas Industry Service Permit online, the applicant has to visit the Oil and Gas Industry Service Permit Portal by clicking the following link: Link
2. Visit the link and click “Login” button if you already have an account in the portal, enter your user credentials in the respective fields in the opening page and click “Login” button.
3. Otherwise, click “Register” option present above, account creation page will open, enter the details asked for and click “Next” button.
4. Then, enter email address and password, and then click “Create Account” button.
5. After that, you will receive a confirmation email with a link, open your inbox and click “Confirm Email” link and activate your account.
6. You will be redirected to the login page in which you can enter your activated account credentials and login.
7. After logging in, your new application page will be automatically get opened, select application type as ‘New’, application category as applicable, types of Services and Job specifications.
8. Then click “Continue to payment” button. Make the payment as applicable to your permit category by following the on-screen instructions and proceed with the consecutive steps.
9. Complete the other steps as applicable by following the on-screen instructions and also upload the scanned copies of the required documents by clicking the applicable option.
10. After completing the steps, submit the application and the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
11. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the permit.
12. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be notified by the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.

Eligibility

• Any organisation, that wishes to provide Oil and Gas Industry Services, is eligible for the permit.
• The organisation can be an enterprise, limited or public liability company and government or non-government establishment.

Fees

• General Permit , (STATUTORY FEE) 5,000.00 N and (STATUTORY FEE) 500.00 N
  
• Major Permit, (STATUTORY FEE) 25,000.00 N and (STATUTORY FEE) 2,500.00 N
  
• Specialized Permit,(STATUTORY FEE) 250,000.00 N and (STATUTORY FEE) 7,500.00 N

Instructions

• Applicants must ensure to provide correct and functional addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail at the time of submission. Any subsequent change must be promptly communicated to: The Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, 7, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
• All required documents should be clearly scanned and uploaded to the portal in PDF or JPEG format (documents shall not exceed 4MB). Uploading of zipped documents not allowed.
• Payments can be made directly through any Nigerian bank or any convenient electronic payment option – further payment instructions are available at the point of payment on the OGISP portal.
• Please note that payment does not guarantee the issuance of a permit. Permits are issued only after applicants have fulfilled all other necessary conditions.
• Applicants are advised to complete the application form neatly and completely with absolute legibility and appropriateness to avoid rejections. Also, all the required documents must be furnished completely.

Need for the Document

• If a Nigerian organisation/company is about to provide Oil and Gas Industry Services, it must obtain and possess Oil and Gas Industry Services permit from the Department of Petroleum resources of Nigeria.
  

Information which might help

• The DPR would conduct inspection/assessment of the facilities for all new applicants under the major and specialized categories, prior to a consideration for the issuance of permits.
• Inspections would also be conducted on companies whose permits had not been renewed for more than three (3) years preceding an application.
• All applications under Major and Specialized categories will be subjected to further evaluation by relevant Divisions/Units in the DPR; and assessed for their professional competencies and capabilities.
• It may be necessary to inspect existing companies/businesses that have applied for renewals from time to time. Companies must have physical presence in Nigeria. Inspections are without notice and without prejudice to existing permits and/or approvals.
