Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Captive Power (Electricity) Generation License or Permit in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.

  3. Visit the office and obtain an application form for Captive Power (Electricity) Generation License or Permitfrom the relevant department. Or click here to download application form
  4. Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. The application should be signed and dated by the applicant or an authorized representative of the applicant.
  5. Make sure that you attached all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Then, the application along with the required documents should be addressed to the Secretary, and submitted at the Commission’s headquarters.
  7. Pay the non-refundable fee required for the processing of the application.
  8. On successful submission and completion of payment, the applicant will be issued with an acknowledgement slip.
  9. Within a month, the commission will evaluate the application and it may require the applicant to provide any additional information, if necessary.
  10. In case if the application is complete, it will be considered for the issuance of the permit and the applicant will be notified by the Commission within 30 days from the date of the application, through applicant’s registered mobile number or email address.
