Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for School Psychologist License, the applicant has to approach the Canadian Psychological Association link
  2. The applicant can check the College of Psychologists from the following link
  3. Complete a relevant undergraduate degree, such as psychology or education, as a foundation for the applicant’s career in school psychology.
  4. In most cases, the applicant will also need to pursue a graduate degree in School Psychology, typically at the master's or doctoral level, from an accredited institution.
  5. Ensure that the applicant’s program meets the requirements set by the regulatory body.
  6. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  8. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  10. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  13. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  14. Some provinces may require the applicant to undergo a criminal record check or fulfill additional requirements related to language proficiency or professional liability insurance.
  15. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  16. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
  17. This entire process can be completed within 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

The eligibility requirement:

  • A master's degree in school psychology from a program accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
  • Completion of a supervised internship in school psychology.
  • Passing the Canadian School Psychologist Examination (CSPE).
  • Meet the requirements for registration with the provincial or territorial regulatory body for school psychologists.
