- To Apply for Physical Therapist License, the applicant has to approach the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators link
- Once the application is completed with the training and insurance process, the applicant has to visit the office.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Before your license is granted, you will likely need to provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage. The regulatory body will provide information on the required insurance and acceptable providers.
- If the application is approved and you have met all the requirements, you will be issued a Physical Therapist license. The regulatory body will provide you with your license and any accompanying documentation.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 – 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

The eligibility requirements to apply for a physical therapist license
- Have a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Complete a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised fieldwork experience.
- Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
- Be registered with the provincial regulatory organization for physical therapists in the province where you want to practice.
