Apply In Person:
- To Apply for HVAC Contractor License, the applicant has to approach the Service Canada office link
- Note: Enter the address and the range of Km and click the “Find” button to check the nearest office.
- Generally, the applicant will need to meet certain education and experience requirements to be eligible for an HVAC contractor license. This may involve completing a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program or obtaining relevant trade qualifications.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the essential documents along with the completed application form to the office.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Depending on the jurisdiction, you may be required to pass an examination to demonstrate your knowledge and competence in HVAC systems and practices.
- The regulatory authority will evaluate your application and supporting documents.
- After reviewing the application, supporting documents, and examination results, if applicable, the regulatory authority will decide on the HVAC contractor license.
- If approved, the applicant will be issued a license to work as an HVAC contractor in the respective province or territory
- This entire process can be completed within 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
