Apply In-Person:
- To apply for a Canadian Passport in person, the applicant has to visit the nearest Service Canada office that provides Passport Services, the respective Passport office can be found using the following link office finder
- Visit the link, enter the applicant’s address and find the nearest passport office. Go to the office and obtain an application form to apply for a Canadian Passport from the relevant department.
- Before visiting the office, the applicants are advised to make an appointment since all the offices will not be free at all times.
- Complete the appointment form in the link as applicable and click the “Submit” button, make an appointment by visiting the following link appointment link

- The application form can be completed by the applicant either electronically or by using a pen. Follow the instructions present in the application form while filling the application form.
- Make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Then, the applicant has to find a guarantor in order to sign the completed application, one of the applicant’s passport photos and all copies of any supporting identity documents.
- After attestation, all the required documents must be attached with the completed application form.
- Before visiting the office for submitting the application, make an appointment as mentioned before.
- Visit the office and submit the application package to the relevant authority at the office. Pay the required fees by following the instructions of the officials over there.

- Upon receipt of the application, the applicant will be issued with an acknowledgement receipt which will contain the pickup date of the passport (if the applicant has paid for a pickup service).
- Then, necessary processes will take place accordingly. The application and submitted documents will be assessed and verified by relevant officials.
- Once all the processes are over, the applicant should visit the office on the pickup date and collect the Passport, the applicant shall receive their passport within 10-20 days from the submission of the application.
- The applicant can send someone else to pick up their passport if they have valid identification and written authorization from the applicant to do so.
- Meanwhile, the applicant can be contacted by the office for any missing or additional information.
Apply through mail
- To apply for Canadian Passport through mail, the applicant has to mail an application to the mailing address of the Service Canada.
- The mailing address for applicants in Newfoundland and Labrador is as follows: Government of Canada, Passport Program, Box 9325 RPO CSC, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3K 0J1.
- Firstly, the applicants should download the application form by clicking the following link application form
- The application form can be completed by the applicant either electronically or by using a pen. Follow the instructions present in the application form while filling the application form.

- Choose a traceable mail service at the applicant’s convenience and mail the application package.

- Once all the processes are over, the passport (and any original documentation the applicant submitted) will be returned to the applicant by mail and may be in 2 separate packages, the applicant shall receive their passport within 10-20 days from the submission of the application.

Apply through courier
- To apply for Canadian Passport through courier, the applicant has to send an application to the courier address of the Service Canada.

InstructionsEdit
- For new passport applications, the applicant will need to find a guarantor to sign their application, one of their passport photos and all copies of any supporting identity documents are submitted with their application.
- The applicant will also need two references to include in their application. Their references must have known them for at least 2 years and the applicant cannot use a family member or their guarantor as a reference.
- The applicant can go to any passport office (Service Canada Centre – Passport Services) or Service Canada Centre that offers passport services without an appointment (also called walk-in services).
- But, Walk-in services are not guaranteed. They may not be available at busy locations.
- If the applicant cannot submit their application themselves, someone else can submit their application for them. Learn more submit representative
- The applicant won’t receive a refund for the service fee if they cancel their application or are refused a travel document or are issued a passport for a shorter validity period than requested (for example, in cases where an individual has had multiple losses).
- Only the consular fee, which applies to all adult applications, is refundable if a passport is not issued.
