ProcedureEdit

To apply for a permit you will need a doctor's confirmation. Your doctor will assess your needs and recommend the type of permit you need.

If you are eligible, you can apply for a permit online, by post or in person.

  • Online: Link
  • By Post or In Person:
    • You will need to complete an application. You can download the form using the link provided under 'Documents to Use' section, or you may also contact your local CCS Disability Action branch and they will post a form to you.
    • Check with your local branch which payment method they are able to process - and post the completed form to them, or take it in to the branch.

EligibilityEdit

Having a medical condition or disability does not automatically entitle a person to a mobility parking permit.

To be eligible for a permit you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are unable to walk and always require the use of a wheelchair, or
  • Your ability to walk distances is severely restricted by a medical condition or disability. If for example, you require the use of mobility aids, experience severe pain, or breathlessness, or
  • You have a medical condition or disability that requires you to have physical contact or close supervision to safely get around and cannot be left unattended. For example, if you experience disorientation, confusion, or severe anxiety.

Note: Doctor's confirmation is needed, unless you are renewing a long-term permit.



FeesEdit

  • Long-term permit (5 years): $50
  • Short-term permit (3-12 months): $35 (A 3 month, 6 month or 9 month permit may be extended to a maximum of 12 months from the date of issue for an additional $5)
  • Overseas visitor's permit (3-12 months) : $35



ValidityEdit

  • Short-term permit: A three month, six month or nine month permit may be extended to a maximum of 12 months from the date of issue. This requires confirmation from your doctor that your mobility is still affected.
  • Long-term permit: 5 years, renewable

  • Short-term permit: You can apply for a short-term permit if you have a temporary medical condition that affects your mobility.

Need for the DocumentEdit

Mobility parking spaces, are parking spaces that are wider than a standard parking space. These spaces are marked with the disability symbol and are usually closer to venues. People with disability may obtain mobility parking permit which will allow them use mobility parking spaces. The permit also allows them to park in some regular parking spaces for longer than the designated time. Following is a procedure on how to apply for one.
