Procedure

Apply in person:

1. Approach the local office and collect the Application form required for the disconnection of electricity supply
2. You can also download it from the link: Link
3. Also refer to the “Documents to use” in the section of this procedure.
4. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
5. Consumer has to submit an affidavit on Notary Stamp Paper of Rs. 10, stating the reason of permanent disconnection to the Area Executive Engineer, Distribution Division along with copy of the latest Bill.
6. Consumer has to deposit the outstanding dues & has to deposit the required PD Fee at the office of Executive Engineer, Distribution Division, as per details mentioned in the Fees section of this procedure.
7. Fill in the form and submit it at the respective office along with the required documents and collect required acknowledgement.
8. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
9. The applicant will be contacted by respective officer /Call Centre Representative on email/mobile provided by you for verification.
10. Once verification and payment procedure is successful and acknowledgement is submitted, the disconnection will be effected according to consumer’s application.

Eligibility

Consumers already having an electricity connection can apply for this request.

Fees

Disconnection and Reconnection of supply for any reason whatsoever (Disconnection and Reconnection to be separately treated as single job).

• Consumer having load above 100BHP/75KW per job: Rs. 1000
  
• Power consumers up to 100BHP/75KW per job: Rs. 500
  
• All other categories of Consumers per job: Rs. 300
  

Validity

The disconnection will be available as long as the mentioned period by the applicant.

Processing Time

The notice period shall be 30 days for all consumers. Upon service of the said notice, the licensee shall arrange to take reading, disconnect the supply, remove meter, cable etc., deliver final bill including all arrears up to the date of disconnection within 30 days from the date of said application. Upon payment, the Licensee shall issue receipt with FINAL BILL stamped on it, which shall be treated as No Dues Certificate.

Instructions

• A consumer may terminate the agreement after giving a notice in the specified format ( (Hindi, English)). The notice period shall be 30 days for all consumers. Upon service of the said notice, the licensee shall arrange to take reading, disconnect the supply, remove meter, cable etc., deliver final bill including all arrears up to the date of disconnection with in 30 days from the date of said application. Upon payment, the Licensee shall issue receipt with FINAL BILL stamped on it, which shall be treated as No Dues Certificate.
• If the dues are not paid by the consumers the surcharge payable by the consumer on dues shall be levied up to the period of issue of section-5 notice, or for maximum eight months only.
• The security amount shall be adjusted first and after adjusting the security amount the net arrear shall be calculated on which surcharge shall be payable by the consumer.
