Procedure

• Note: If your RC is stolen or lost, you have to file a complaint and get FIR copy from police station. In case of damaged or toned RC, you don't have to make complaint. The damaged remains will be required to apply.
  
  

Apply in Person

1. As a first step please go to the local police station and file an FIR and bring a copy of it to the RTO office.
   
2. To obtain duplicate vehicle registration in New Delhi the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

4. Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application forms And Parivahan Forms Link
   
5. You need to bring your vehicle for physical verification as required
   
6. Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
   
7. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
8. Present the completed application forms along with documents in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
9. Authorities will inspect the vehicle – Chassis number particularly
   
10. If the details and documents are in place then the authorities will process the application further
    
    

Apply In-Person to replace damaged RC

1. In this process the applicant has to bring the damaged or toned pieces of original RC to submit and don’t require police certificate (FIR) and follow the steps as mentioned above
   
   

Apply Online

1. Use the following link to reach the online portal for processing: Parivahan website
   
2. When home page opens, user will have option to login or register into application.
   
3. If you are a new user, then use the registration tab on top of the screen to register. Just fill the prompted queries like name, email, mobile etc, and you will be authenticated for your email address to give user id and password.
   
4. Being a registered user, one can select login option provided on the top of the screen.
   
5. In the new page please enter the user id and password. Followed by “captcha” and hit submit to get the new page.
   
6. Here. Please select “Vehicle Related Services” under online services menu to get the new screen. In the screen given, please enter vehicle registration number, Last five digits of chassis number and registered mobile number then hit generate OTP.
   
7. Please fill in the received OTP in the given box and hit submit to get a page with information of owner and vehicle. Click “Next” on bottom of the screen to get options to choose.
   
8. Select “Issue of Duplicate RC” and hit Submit button and respected screen will display.
   
9. Please enter / select appropriate options as prompted and hit submit to reach next page
   
   

Appointment

1. As you process above procedure, there will be a list of menu on the left side of the screen and select “Appointment” option to get option to process.
   
2. Please enter the application number on the box provided to get information on details of applicant and others.
   
3. Please select the calendar icon next to “select date” to choose slot for appointment
   
   

Upload documents

1. Please select DMS(Upload Docs) option listed on the left side of the screen to reach new page
   
2. In the new page upload the required documents as prompted and hit submit to complete the document uploading
   
   

Fee payment

1. Applicant can make payment for his requirement as details of payment displayed while selecting Fee Detail from the menu displayed on left side of the screen.
   
2. After confirming the amount hit submit and follow as per the prompted required information to complete payment.

3. Remains of certificate in case of torn / mutilated
   
4. 2 Photograph of the applicant with vehicle clearly showing number plate
   
5. Pollution under control certificate
   
6. Copy of the Registered certificate (If you have one)
   
7. Valid Insurance Certificate.
   
8. Proof of address (any one of the following): Ration Card / Electoral Roll / LIC Policy / Affidavit sworn by the applicant before an Executive or First Class Judicial
   
9. Pencil traced “Chassis Number” is the primary detail for applying

Need for the Document

• All the vehicles need to be registered as per the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. The vehicles are provided with unique registration number. Once the vehicle is registered, a certificate is issued to the owner. The registration certificate is used as a proof for authorized owner of the vehicle.
  
• If the Registration certificate is lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced then one need to apply for a duplicate registration certificate for Vehicle
  
• After one register his / her vehicle – He / She will receive a unique number to use it in number board
  
• When a bike owned by an individual sold to another person – the name transfer has to be made with the authorities concerned

• One who wishes to sell his or her vehicle should make sure that the proper name transfer in RC is carried out
  
• FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle registered
