Procedure

• Light passenger Vehicle Permit means any passenger vehicle adapted to carry 15 to 16 passengers on the permitted route
  

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Light Passenger Vehicle Permit in New Delhi the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

4. Make sure you have completed application form for this permit
   
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
6. Please make sure that you are eligible for this procedure
   
7. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
8. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, seating arrangements etc., will be carried by authorities.

1. Make sure you have completed application form for this permit
   
2. No objection certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
   
3. Neat sketch of the route in triplicate
   
4. important roads connected to the route
   
5. Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
   
6. The resolution of the RTA/STA or the order of the Court.
   
7. Aadhaar Card
   
8. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
   
9. Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
   
10. Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
    
11. Insurance Certificate.
    
12. Passport size photo-2
    
13. Pollution under control certificate
    
14. PROOF OF ADDRESS ( One of the following to be produced)
    
    • Ration Card / Aadhaar Card / Electoral Roll / LIC Policy

• Applicant should be the owner of the vehicle.

Validity

• Vehicle can be used as per the required routes applied for
  
• Permit is valid for 5 years. The renewal of permit can be obtained with Vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO
  
• The age of the vehicle is also considered to restrict the validity of the permit

Need for the Document

• Routes as required should be intimated to RTO authorities while applying
  
• The need for Permit arises with the requirement to operate trips in a route / area for carrying passengers
  
• The Permit allows holders to service an area with a specific route. The permit also mentions the type of vehicle that is granted permission to operate, the approved timetable if required, the number of trips it can make in a day and standard rate of fare it can charge.
  
• Vehicle with this permit can carry Up to 15,16 passengers

• The type and seating capacity of each such vehicle to be notified to the authorities
