Apply In-Person:

  1. Application form for getting an electrical contractor license is available in Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission contact link
  2. Applicant has to provide necessary information in the application form.
  3. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents that are necessary for completing this procedure.
  4. Documents that are required for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Applicant must attach photocopies of all documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting it.
  6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
  7. If all above-mentioned processes were followed properly, applicant can get their license within 3 months.
  8. Applicant will receive a notification from concerned authorities regarding their license, they can visit the office and get their license after getting that notification.
  9. If there is no information regarding the license is provided by concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.


Apply Online

  1. To Apply for Electrical Contractor License, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link link
  2. If the applicant is a new user they can click “New User” menu and register their account. If the applicant is the existing user they can click “Registered Users Login” and login with user id and password.
  3. Next the applicant has to select the service and enter all necessary details in the application form.
  4. The applicant has to upload all the required documents that are mentioned in required documents section of this page.
  5. Review the application and click “submit”. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of the license.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.
