Procedure

If a person who is having two or more names (may be because off spelling mistake in the name too) may apply to the respective authority (local administration/revenue) who shall do the local inquiry into the facts and merits of the details furnished by applicant, thereby verifying the documents submitted in support of the applicants claim, and thereafter issue the Divergence Certificate.
Apply In-Person

1. Applicant must apply in prescribed application form along with required documents to the respective Panchayat / Block / Circle / Tahsildar office where the applicant resides.

4. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used.
5. Submit the completed application along with required documents.
6. Authorities after checking the attached documents and application submitted will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
7. This application will be processed internally. Respective authorities will do the ground level verification followed by scrutiny of the documents and details provided by the applicant.
8. Once the verification is over, these officials will submit their report to the respective authority to decide and issue the Certificate to the applicant.
9. Applicant will get the certificate in 7 to 10 days after due verification.

Apply Online

1. To Apply for Divergence Certificate, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link link
2. If the applicant is a new user they can click “New User” menu and register their account. If the applicant is the existing user they can click “Registered Users Login” and login with user id and password.
3. Next the applicant has to select the service and enter all necessary details in the application form.
4. The applicant has to upload all the required documents that are mentioned in required documents section of this page.
5. Review the application and click “submit”. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
6. Applicant has to make necessary payment and don’t forget to take the receipt.
7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of the Certificate.
11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

• Passport Copy (not compulsory).
• Self Declaration. (Affidavit to prove that YOU ARE YOU)
